Due to the overwhelming show of support and requests to partner with us in offering aid to the people of Haiti, we have set up several ways to give specifically to the continuing Haiti relief effort. We realize that not everyone can volunteer for medical trips. We have multiple ways that you can partner with LEAP to help those recovering in Haiti. Ways to Give
You can give to specific items below, to the general LEAP fund, or specifically to the Haiti relief effort on the Donate page or by mailing your gift (see our mailing address below). Your gifts are tax-deductible and will enable LEAP to provide medical care to those in need.
Urgent Wish-List
Leap & Partner Organizations have developed a "Wish List" of items that are needed to assist in the relief effort. We have broken these items down by categories:
Equipment (4) OBA-1 Anesthesia Machines – These are military type anesthesia machines that we can use in the field. Each machine is $14,285.00 and will be left in Haiti for all relief teams to use. The anesthesia machines use Sevoflurane and each bottle is $142.80 each. We need a large supply of Sevo as 15 bottles will only last for approx 75 patients. LEAP has left one OBA 1 machine in Haiti for relief teams to use. (4-10) Suction machines to be used in the operating rooms, each machine is $778.00. These will also be left for use in Haiti for relief surgical teams. (4) Surgistat II Generators (cautery machines) and bovie pads, each machine is $2907.00. LEAP has already left one machine in Haiti for relief teams to use.
Supplies
- Gauze – sterile and non-sterile
- Large supply of Sevo (Sevoflurane) for the anesthesia machines.
- Gigli handles (saws) with 16/blade wires
- Lidocaine
- Cidex
- Gauze rolls
- 18 and 25 gauge needles
- 2-0 & 3-0 chromic suture
- 2-0 prolene suture
- Basically any suture would be used
Flights
As all of you are aware limited flights are allowed to enter Haiti. Private planes are almost the only way in and out.
- LEAP would like to request funding to secure a private plane through Jet Linx out of Love Field in Dallas, Texas (we will need planes holding 8 people for trips into Port-Au-Prince for fact finding missions and a larger plane (a G4 type) to take a mission team in the near future. The cost for this will be significant and we are getting quotes from Jet Linx that should be available in the next couple of days.

Prayer Partners
Prayer plays a vital role in LEAP’s work. Partner with us in prayer which is where we can give thanks, draw courage, and seek guidance.
