Dear LEAP Supporters,
Li Ying came to the US
in October of 2005 with her mom and an
American missionary who found out about
LEAP.
Though it took an
amazing amount of trust, as the Wang's
didn't speak any English and had barely been
outside of rural China, Li's mom was willing
to risk everything for her daughter. Li had
hypertelorism (eyes separated by a cleft,
encephalocele (outpouching of the brain), as
well as 4 segments of a nose separated by a
wide cleft, and a cleft lip and palate.
The surgery was risky
and challenging. But God blessed the entire
process. Li and her mom are now back in
China. Li's return brought tears to her
father's eyes, who had not seen her in
months, and had no idea what to expect.
Li's follow-up
procedure will be done in China, within this
coming year. If
